Deputy President William Ruto on  Saturday presented his academic papers for verification ahead of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential aspirant interviews.

The Deputy President presented his papers at the party headquarters.

Also present for the same exercise was university student Tracy Wanjiru who is expected to battle it out with DP Ruto for the party's flagbearer position.

In an announcement a few days ago, UDA party announced that the party had received three applications for the post of presidential flag bearer.

In a statement, DP Ruto’s Presidential Campaigns Director of Communications Hussein Mohamed said the Deputy President and two others had expressed interest in the seat.

The two others are Jephnel Nyakwama and Tracy Wanjiru Kingoli. 

“We right to invite you for verification of your documents and interview to determine your eligibility as Presidential Candidate. This will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 0830 hours, the venue being Hustler Plaza,” party SG Veronica Maina said in a letter to the three applicants read.

The UDA party is set to hold its National Delegates Conference on Tuesday, March 15th 2022.

About 5000, delegates are expected to attend the NDC.
