The MP was elected on a Jubilee party ticket but he has opted to join the DP's camp. He will defend his seat on a UDA ticket.

DP Ruto has recently won the support of key Mt Kenya leaders who either backed Azimio La Umoja or were still weighing their political future.

On Sunday, Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and Senator Kimani Wamatangi joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The leaders expressed commitment to campaigning for the DP for the presidency.

Chama Cha Kazi party leader Moses Kuria was also among the leaders who joined the PD in his Thika rally.

The DP went bare-knuckle on his boss exposing how President Uhuru betrayed them despite standing with him through thick and thin.

The DP is relying on the support of the Mt Kenya region for the presidency but Uhuru is determined in ensuring Raila wins the top seat.
