My House is under Surveillance with Electronic Devices Compromised – Kibwana

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has claimed that he is being monitored by the State over his stand on the Constitutional Amendment push.

In a series of tweets, Governor Kibwana noted that drones have been doing rounds around his home, but he will not be intimidated.

“I am under close state surveillance. Drones hover over my official residence. Electronic gadgets in the house are compromised. As it was during Moi and NCEC, so it is now. I have repeatedly made this public and reported to authorities. I will not be intimidated,” he tweeted.

Regarding his stand on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Constitutional amendment push, Governor Kibwana maintained that if there is no public debate on the document, he will oppose it.

If the JUBILEE-ODM govt. does not facilitate a genuine national conversation on the proposed BBI law changes, I will be one among millions of Kenyans who oppose Handshake Constitution. Constitution 2010 must be saved and implemented fully… @StateHouseKenya as a measure of good faith, why can't the government through Cabinet and National Treasury announce that in the coming financial year 2021/2022 counties will be offered 35 percent of national revenue since this can be done without change of Constitution 2010,” he posted.

Collection of BBI Signatures

Meanwhile, ODM Leader Raila Odinga has announced that the collection of BBI signatures will commence on Thursday 19, November 2020.

According to Odinga, the exercise is set to take the shortest time possible, with reports indicating that the BBI team hopes to wrap it up within a week.

According to media reports, the BBI proponents hope to collect at least five million signatures.
