Education CS Prof. George Magoha on Tuesday exposed dirty tricks used by teachers to aid cheating in the ongoing KCSE examinations.

In a press briefing, Prof. Magoha said that some schools register excess candidates so as to get extra papers to aid in cheating.

The CS, who was speaking in Vihiga County on Tuesday morning after opening examination containers, heavily condemned the act.

“We know the tricks. Sometimes the crooked teachers register excess candidates so that when the exam comes it looks some candidates are missing,” Magoha stated.

“We have since found that sometimes the register ghost candidates. For genuine cases of absentee candidates, we have gone even to homes, pleaded with the children and taken back to school to do the exams,” he added.

The CS further warned female Muslim candidates who have allegedly been using their clothing to hide mobile phones, Which are prohibited at examination centres.

However, he said that the KCSE examination is continuing well in many centres across the country assuring all candidates that the government has put measures to curb cheating in the test.

Meanwhile, Magoha revealed that the marking of the KCPE examination is almost complete and the results will be out any time during the week.
