The former Senator stepped down for Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala who will now fly the Kenya Kwanza Governor ticket in Kakamega County.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was at the meeting that saw the deal brokered on Wednesday morning.

The two had shown signs of agreeing in the event Ruto and Mudavadi strike a deal to work together.

The two are now expected to face off with the Azimio team.

Former Ketraco boss Fernandes Barasa is being billed to the Azimio flag bearer in the race.

The new arrangement serves as a wake-up call to Azimio have so many aspirants interested in clinching the seat.

The group will have to mee, restrategize and seal a deal that will enable them to win the seat.

Malala is one of the Key ANC leaders who influenced Mudavadi to join the DP's camp.

After the Mudalia-Ruto deal was sealed, it was rumoured that the Governor seat was part of the negotiation.
