Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris was on Monday attacked by unknown people while on her campaign.

She was in Westlands Constituency on Monday campaigning for her reelection in the August general elections before the goons attacked her.

The MP had reported that the goons took over the convoy truck, including all the items that they were using during the campaigns.

On Tuesday morning, the MP revealed that she is aware of the people who planned the attack.

“There is no need to demonstrate. I will allow the police to do their work. I have reported the incident. The perpetrators are known. I even have an idea of who instigated the attack. A story for another day,” said Passaris through her Twitter account.

After reporting the incident on Monday, she said the police intervened.

“Material things can be replaced. All Glory to God. Awaiting swift action by the Police to arrest perpetrators; two brothers and a woman. Women should be able to campaign and feel safe along the trail.”

She said that Nairobi County Police Commander James Mugera and OCS Parklands James Murigu responded to her outcry with speed and took action against the perpetrators.

“Violence and intimidation on the campaign trail should not be tolerated.”

Passaris said she will be using the ODM ticket under the Azimio La Umoja Movement to retain her seat, but she is facing a big challenge from the Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga who will be vying under the UDA ticket.
