The National Police Service (NPS) on Tuesday issued a statement regarding the event-packed April.
In a press statement, Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso stated that the police have collaborated with their multiagency partners to enhance security in all public spaces.
April will see Muslims will usher in the Holy month of Ramadhan exams with Christians expected to celebrate the Easter Holidays.
The African Rally Championship (ARC) is also planned for April in Naivasha, which calls for heightened security.
And with the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) ongoing and heightened political activities ahead of general polls, Shioso said it may be an opportunity for criminal elements to plot disruptive activities.
“These high-level activities also unfortunately present opportunities to a few criminal elements to plot disruptive activities that may harm the smooth running of the organized events and activities.
“The National Police Service with its partners in the multiagency framework have taken adequate measures to provide security in all public places,” the statement signed by Shioso read in part.
The police spokesperson added that there were special arrangements to secure major urban areas including all critical infrastructure and places of interest.
He intimated that security agencies have further enhanced their surveillance against suspicious individuals and organized gangs.
Mr Shioso maintained that the police service shall continue to uphold its role urging the members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
