The African Rally Championship (ARC) is also planned for April in Naivasha, which calls for heightened security.

And with the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) ongoing and heightened political activities ahead of general polls, Shioso said it may be an opportunity for criminal elements to plot disruptive activities.

“These high-level activities also unfortunately present opportunities to a few criminal elements to plot disruptive activities that may harm the smooth running of the organized events and activities.

“The National Police Service with its partners in the multiagency framework have taken adequate measures to provide security in all public places,” the statement signed by Shioso read in part.
