- CS Magoha's Bodyguard Accused of Squeezing Journalist's Genitals

Kisumu Journalists Network (KJN) wants action taken against Education CS George Magoha's bodyguard who they accuse of sexually harassing two journalists while in Kisumu County on Thursday.

According to KJN chairman, Rushdie Oudia, two Photojournalists Ondari Ogega (Nation Media Group) and Viola Kosome (People Daily) were assaulted as they covered Prof Magoha who was inspecting desks delivered to Kosawo Primary School.

Mr. Oudia notes that as Mr. Ogega struggled to get some good photos of the CS, he bumped into the no-nonsense bodyguard.

"As he made his way out of the classroom, the CS’s bodyguard followed him and reached for his fly before squeezing his genitals and threatening to do more outside the classroom.

"Just in the same classroom, the said officer also grabbed a female journalist’s buttocks and pushed her to give way for the CS. The journalist is People Daily’s photographer Viola Kosome,'' part of the statement read.

KJN also claims that the same bodyguard recently harassed and inserted his fingers into a journalist's mouth while in Vihiga.

The group now wants Inspector-General Hillary Mutyambai and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to act against the bodyguard.

On the other hand, Magoha has recently been in hot soup after he was captured in a video insulting an education official with a section of leaders calling for his sacking.

Following the incident, the Public Service Commission (PSC) withdrew his human resource powers.

"PSC Chairman Stephen Kirogo in a circular addressed to chairpersons of Public Universities Councils and copied to the Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua, said all human resource matters requiring the attention of the PSC shall henceforth be handled by Dr. Kipsang as Authorized Officer of the Ministry until further notice," the Commission’s Communications Director Browne Kutswa wrote in a statement.
