The aspirant succumbed to Injuries at Oasis Hospital in Kisii where he was rushed after the attack. 

A Nairobi based businessman, Thomas Okari, was killed by unknown assailants after travelling to Kisii County for ODM primaries. 

Confirming the incident, area chief Henry Magetto said that the deceased was attacked at his home by unknown people.  

Okaria was seeking the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MCA party ticket for the August election. 

The ODM primaries are scheduled for April 7, 2022.

Reports indicate that the businessman left Nairobi County for Kisii on Friday, April 1 last week. 

The assailants are said to have broken into his home on Sunday night where he was hacked on the head with a panga.
