A man in Nandi has allegedly killed his wife and three children before surrendering himself to the police.

The man, who hails from the Ndalat market area in Nandi county, presented himself at Kipkaren Salient Police Station after allegedly committing the act.

Philip Lokuruen, aged 40, is reported to have confessed to the police that he killed his wife Rispa Chelimo, aged 35, and his three children Ian Kipkosgei, aged 11, Brenda Cheruto, aged 9, and Linus Kipkosgei, aged 7.

Lokuruen committed a heinous act on Wednesday night after what reports say was fueled by a domestic fued.

Area chief Eunice Luley while addressing the press confirmed the deaths of the four family members and said their remains have been taken to Kimbilio Hospital morgue.

Police are now probing the matter before arraigning the suspect.

Cases of domestic violence have been on the rise in the country despite calls for tolerance in solving domestic disputes.

The incident just came days after a man killed his wife in Machakos in what reports say was a result of domestic conflicts.
