Alfred Mutua went mute over the meeting, deciding to keep off from posting any information on the same

Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu has broken her silence hours after a meeting with ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.

This was after Raila, who is one of the Azimio la Umoja coalition's patrons, convened an urgent meeting with Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap party, Charity Ngilu of Narc, Martha Karua of Narc Kenya and Kivutha Kibwana of Muungano party.

The meeting which took place in Nairobi on Thursday was meant to iron out issues raised by the leaders led by Alfred Mutua on Wednesday.

The four parties had threatened to quit Azimio over what they termed as a lack of respect towards them and seclusion in the key decision makings in the Azimio la Umoja camp.

And immediately after the meeting, Governor Ngilu took to her social media pages to express her optimism, saying they had discussed among other issues, inclusivity and equity among all parties in the camp. She, however, did not reveal much information from the meeting

"The Azimio partner Party Leaders and their representatives today held consultative discussions with Rt Hon Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential candidate. The discussions centered around: Inclusivity, Equity, and Consultation. Inawezekana," stated Ngilu.

On his part, Raila Odinga committed himself to ensuring the interests of other coalition partners will also matter in Azimio la Umoja coalition.

He said inclusivity, equity and the need for regular consultations will ensure that their camp remains united ahead of the next general polls.

"A great meeting this morning with Azimio partner parties to foster the interests of our coalition. Inclusivity, equity, and the need for regular consultations formed part of today’s agenda" said Raila after the meeting

However, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua went mute over the meeting, deciding to keep off from posting any information on the same.

It is a decision that left many Kenyans wondering whether an amicable solution was found at a meeting where President Uhuru Kenyatta is reported to have communicated with the four-party leaders using Raila's phone.

The head of state was at Isiolo Barracks in Isiolo County to preside over the official inauguration of the new Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Isiolo Regional Hospital (IRH)
