Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi has won the UDA party primaries in Kiambu county.

Wamatangi will now fly the UDA ticket in the Kiambu governor race after winning the nominations.

Other nominees for the UDA ticket were former Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Eric Muturi.

Earlier, there were claims that UDA had settled for Wamatangi, remarks that were dismissed by Thika MP Wainaina Wa Jungle.

Wamatangi had served Kiambu for two terms and will now be seeking to be the county boss in the August 9, polls. 

Kuria is seeking a seat on his Chama Cha Kazi party ticket.

He is set to face off with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and former Governor Willliam Kabogo who is vying with his Tujibebe Wakenya Party.
