Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper Party has brokered a deal with a Jubilee Party candidate in the Nairobi County gubernatorial race ahead of August polls.

At an event at the Kalonzo Command Centre in Karen, Nairobi, on Friday, Kalonzo endorsed Richard Ngatia, one of the candidates eyeing Jubilee's ticket.

According to the former vice president, Ngatia had agreed to run with Wiper’s candidate Prof. Philip Kaloki as his running mate.

"Thank you Your Excellency Kalonzo Musyoka for endorsing me as the Wiper party Nairobi County Gubernatorial candidate," Prof. Kaloki said.

At the same event, Wiper unveiled its candidate for the Machakos County gubernatorial race in the August 9 polls.

Wavinya Ndeti was handed the party’s ticket after Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, who was also battling for the Wiper ticket, bowed out of the race to support Wavinya.

"For a brother to step down for a sister is not a joke. I want to sincerely thank you Hon Makau for stepping down for me," Ms Wavinya stated.

Wiper is one of the parties under the newly-registered Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition party.

The coalition party is comprised of 26 parties including the ruling Jubilee Party and Raila Odinga’s ODM party.
