Didmus Barasa's reaction came as a section of politicians congratulated Linet Chepkorir (Toto) for her outstanding victory in the UDA primaries.

Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has taken on the ODM party after 24-year-old Linet Chepkorir, alias Toto, triumphed in the UDA primaries.

In a tweet on Sunday, April 17, Barasa contrasted Chepkorir, who won the UDA Bomet Woman Representative ticket, with Oburu Odinga, who was handed a direct ticket by the Orange party.

The EALA MP had been cleared by ODM to vie for the Siaya senatorial seat in the August polls.

In his tweet, the Kimilili MP shared a photo of Oburu, ODM Raila leader Raila Odinga’s elder brother, and that of Chepkorir with the caption:

“A youth in The ODM Party versus a youth in United Democratic Alliance!! Congratulations Linet chepkorir toto women representative Bomet county totton your nomination.”


The ardent Deputy President William Ruto supporter’s tweet came after a section of politicians congratulated the young aspirant for her outstanding victory in the UDA primaries.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, who supports supports the Raila-led Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, tweeted:

"Congratulations Linet Chepkorir (Toto) for winning the Bomet Women Rep nomination at that young age. An inspirational win to the girl child across the country. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. Onwards and Upwards to Bunge,”

Former Mukurweini MP Kabdando Wa Kabando congratulated Chepkorir for her brilliance and boldness in clinching the UDA ticket.

“What a befitting EASTER inspiration to the youth, indeed the world! Breaking the Mold. Kudos Linet Chepkorir TOTO @TotoLinet. Daring. Bold. Brilliant.” he tweeted.

Chepkorir got the attention of Kenyans on Friday, April 15, as she defied all odds to win the UDA Bomet Women Rep ticket after garnering 53,934 votes.
