Reports have been circulating on social media that Passaris had stepped down from the Nairobi women representative race.

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has broken her silence after reports that she would not be defending her seat.

Reports have been circulating on social media that Passaris had stepped down from the Nairobi women representative race.

Addressing the reports on Monday, April 18, Passaris dismissed the claims as fake affirming she was in the race to defend her seat.

"My attention has been drawn to malicious & false allegations purporting that I have stepped down from defending my seat. Nothing could be further from the truth. Serving the People of Nairobi as their Woman Rep. has been a great honor, and I intend to continue this noble journey," she stated.

Passaris is aiming to defend the Nairobi women rep seat with an ODM ticket under the Azimio la Umoja where Raila Odinga is the presidential candidate.

Passaris, among other candidates, will face off with Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga of the UDA party for the seat.

Jubilee candidate for the Nairobi women rep Wangui Ng'ang’a is also in the race.

She was elected in 2017 when she ousted Rachael Shebesh of the ruling Jubilee party.
