Jaguar's remarks came after he missed out on the UDA MP ticket for Starehe Constituency that was given to Simon Mbugua.

Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua alias Jaguar has sent a strong message to Deputy President William Ruto after missing out on the UDA ticket.

Speaking on Saturday, April 23, the lawmaker denounced the DP's proposal to nominate him for MP in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

According to the musician-turned politician, the Deputy President should instead nominate the wife of his rival, Simon Mbugua, for the position.

“The seat that he wanted to give me should go to Mbugua’s wife. You cannot remove me here as a sitting MP and take me to Arusha. Give Mbugua’s wife that position because he will not be elected here,” Jaguar told his supporters.

The lawmaker earlier cried foul after losing the ticket to Mbugua saying that Starehe residents were denied their democratic right to choose their leader in the ballot.

"The party decided to carry out opinion polls to decide whom to award the nomination certificate and it has been done,” Jaguar protested in his socials.

Jaguar joined the DP's UDA party in January after decamping from the ruling Jubilee party. He had been elected to Parliament in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket.

After missing out on the UDA ticket, Jaguar said he would defend his seat as an independent candidate in the upcoming August polls.
