The water outage has been occasioned by the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway.

The Nairobi City Water and Sewage Company (NCWSC) has announced water outages in some parts of the city.

The water outage will be experienced for about 24 hours starting from Wednesday, April 27 to Thursday, April 28.

In a notice dated Tuesday, the water outage has been occasioned by the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway.

"Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd ( NCWSC ) will shut down the water supply pipeline along Uhuru Highway due to ongoing construction of the Express Way / Mombasa Road starting from 6:00 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, to Thursday, 28 April 28, 2022, at 6:00 am," the notice read in part.

Other areas to be affected include the whole of the City Centre, Ngara, Parklands, Aga Khan Hospital, the area along Limuru Road, Main Campus of the University of Nairobi including the Parkland Law Campus.

The Central Business District (CBD) and estates surrounding it will be affected.

Areas that will also be affected include estates along Mombasa Road, South B and South C areas and the neighbourhoods, University of Nairobi Main Campus. Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and EPZ Athi River will also experience water outages.

Also, the whole Industrial Area, General Services Unit and Administration Police Training Schools in Embakasi, Embakasi Village, Tassia 1 and Fedha Estate, Areas along Jogoo Road: City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu, and the surrounding estates will also be affected.

"This will facilitate repair of a major leak on the relocated new water pipelines at Uhuru park along Uhuru Highway to enable the release of the road corridor to the Expressway road contractor," the notice added.
