UDA handed Simon Mbugua the UDA ticket, a move Jaguar opposed and said he will go Independent.

A standoff ensued at Deputy President William Ruto's Official Karen residence after  Starehe MP Charles Njagua, alias Jaguar, was denied access to the venue where the DP had a meeting.

Ruto had called a meeting with about 300 traders from Starehe to rally them behind the UDA candidate Simon Mbugua. The Meeting happened on Tuesday.

Mbugua is an EALA legislator who is finishing his term.

It is said that Jaguar wanted to have access to the meeting but Ruto's security details blocked him.

After being blocked, the legislator had a chaotic encounter with a section of UDA supporters outside the Karen residence.

The supporters questioned him why he was disrespecting the DP.

In a viral video that has been circulated on social media, a section of UDA supporters was seen reprimanding the MP.

Others were however asking their fellow supporters to let the MP explain himself even as they told him to his face that they won't vote for him.

"Let's listen to him. But we are not going to elect him even if goes for the seat as an independent candidate," a UDA supporter who was part of the group said.

Jaguar has been having wars with the UDA party after they issued the ticket to Mbugua who the party reportedly found was more popular than the ex-singer.

Jaguar however protested the development and said he will go independent.
