Kingi's PAA party signed a coalition agreement with Kenya Kwanza Alliance on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi was on Tuesday officially welcomed to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The Governor was welcomed to the Kenya Kwanza camp by Deputy President William Ruto and a host of leaders allied with the coalition.

In his address, Kingi noted that he joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance not because of his position but because of the interest of the Coastal people.

Kingi at the same time explained why their journey to Azimio.

The second term governor revealed that the Azimio La Umoja coalition refused to make available the copy of the agreement that formed the Azimio coalition party.

He further said that the dealings in Azimio are shrouded in disturbing deep secrets that also include decisions made by few and forced down the throat of others without their consent.

According to Kingi, the two reasons made it difficult for PAA to remain in Azimio as it meant that they will not be able to achieve their core agenda of belonging to a political coalition.

Kingi noted that he is ready to campaign for Kenya Kwanza Alliance and ensure that Ruto wins the presidency in the August 9, polls.

He said they have been assured by the DP camp that their interests will be catered for once the Kenya Kwanza Alliance wins the presidency in the August 9, polls.
