The UDA candidate died after he was allegedly attacked by unknown people.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has announced its next move after the death of Hon. Mark Bowen, the party's candidate for Sambirir Ward, Marakwet East Constituency.

In a statement released by the party on Tuesday, May 17, Bowen had clinched the ticket after a contest with 12 applicants, and the party was obligated to make a replacement.

The party nominated Mr. Paul Suter Kipkemoi as the replacement after he had emerged third in the UDA primaries in the ward.

This was decided as the aspirant who emerged second in the contest resigned from the party to run as an independent candidate.

The party passed its condolences to the people of Sambirir Ward for the passing of Hon. Bowen.

Bowen died on May 7 at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret after he was allegedly attacked by unknown people.
