Deputy President William Ruto has opened up on his decision to settle on Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his deputy ahead of the August election.
Speaking on Tuesday, May 17 during the funeral of Rigathi's elder brother James Reriani Gachagua, DP Ruto said that all Kenya Kwanza members settled on Rigathi because he is a God-fearing man.
The DP further added that his deputy Rigathi is a hardworking man and is always concerned about the issues of the ordinary people.
"As a team of Kenya Kwanza, We all agreed on Rigathi as my deputy because of two reasons; one, he is a hardworking man and secondly Gachagua is a God-fearing man," the DP said.
Ruto picked Gachagu as his running mate ahead of Tharaka Nithi Senator Kindiki Kithure who came in second. This was the first visit to Nyeri County since the unveiling of the legislator as his deputy.
