Candidates are required to send their details to 20076.

With less than six months remaining before the next National Examinations in November and December 2022, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has now set up Short Message Services to enable the KCPE, KPSEA, and KCSE candidates to check their registration statuses.

Through a tweet on Friday, KNEC urged parents, teachers, and candidates of Grade Six, Class 8 and Form Four to confirm their registration details through SMS.

Candidates are required to send their details; either KCPE, KPSEA, or KCSE words followed closely by their index numbers (without spacing) to 20076.

"Headteachers, parents and candidates can now confirm the registration details for 2022 KPSEA, KCPE and KCSE examinations by sending an SMS to 20076. Use this format; (Exam)(Index Number), for example; KCPE36611030002 and send to 20076. You will receive a confirmation message," read a tweet from KNEC," read the tweet.

This will ensure that their registration details are well captured in KNEC records as one way of avoiding the last-minute frustrations of missing details when the national examinations kick off in November and December this year.

This will be the last group to sit for the KCPE and KCSE examinations before the 8-4-4 curriculum is faced out completely and pave way for the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Grade Six students will be assessed under the Competency-Based Curriculum before joining junior secondary school.
