Speaking to Nairobileo.co.ke, Itumbi shed more light on the break.

Deputy President William Ruto's digital strategist and self-declared Hustler Nation spokesman Dennis Itummbi has announced a break from social media.

In an update on his social media pages, Itumbi announced the 36-hour break while urging his followers to keep the Mama mboga conversation ongoing.

"I am taking a 36 Hours break from Social Media. reason: It is so classified," he stated.

Speaking to Nairobileo.co.ke, Itumbi said that it was nothing more than a normal break.

"A break, once in a while, is important to us all. Nothing more," Itumbi told this journalist.

Itumbi, who has more than 2 million followers on his social media platforms, has become integral for DP Ruto and the Kenya kwanza team on the digital front.

He has been issuing constant updates regarding DP Ruto's campaign schedule, press briefings, and information for the Kenya Kwanza team.

Towards the end of 2022, Itumbi created what he called the ‘Hustler Nation Intelligence Bureau (HNIB), which leaks purportedly highly-confidential information on politics and governance while overtly advancing the interests of the DP Ruto and his Presidential campaign.

HNIB has captured the attention of Ruto supporters and attracted criticism from rivals who have termed it a 'propaganda' machine.

At the same time, Itumbi has used his pages to criticize and poke holes into the Azimio la Umoja coalition led by Raila Odinga and his deputy nominee Martha Karua.
