Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria on Monday, May 30 revealed his next move if he got locked out of the presidential contest in August.

In a statement, the presidential hopeful said that he would convert his Usawa Kwa Wote party into a resistance movement if the Independent ElectoraI Boundaries Commission (IEBC) denied him clearance for the top seat.

"If by the end of the day they will not register me, I will convert my party into a resistance movement, they can be sure of that," Wa Iria stated.

According to Wa Iria, he had submitted the required documents to contest for the presidency but failed to be cleared by the IEBC.

In a video seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the county boss said that he was not going to leave Bomas even if they called the Navy or military troops deployed in Ukraine.

"I am not going to leave here. Sitoki hapa ata mulete Kenya Navy. Ata Mulete wale majeshi wanapigana huko Ukraine Sitoki hapa. Hadi wakati Chebukati ataonekana hapa, siwezi toka," Wa Iria was heard shouting in the video.

His supporters, who had accompanied him, were also upbeat as they shouted, "no Wa Iria, no election!"

Meanwhile, IEBC has already declined submissions by the Roots Party leader Prof. George Wajackoyah and Ruben Kigame who were all gunning for presidency.
