MP Fred Ouda was attacked after he stormed Governor Nyongo's rally demanding to address the crowd.

Police in Kisumu were on Saturday forced to lobby teargas canisters to disperse rowdy supporters after Kisumu Central MP Fred Ouda was attacked.

According to reports, the scuffles started after Mr. Ouda, who is a fierce critic of Governor Anyang Nyongo stormed Nyong’o’s ODM rally at Kirembe Grounds.

It is reported that Ouda, who was accompanied by his supporters, stormed the venue and demanded to address the crowd. His attempts were, however, repulsed by supporters of his ODM competitor Joshua Oron together with Nyongo's supporters.

The angry ODM supporters, however, immediately attacked Ouda's team, forcing police officers to lobby tear gas canisters at the charged crowd which was paying for his blood.

From the video shared online, Ouda and his supporters were forced to scatter for safety as police officers helped him into their land cruiser which then sped off leaving behind the angry ODM supporters.

MP Ouda is a supporter of former Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma who will be running on an MDG ticket against Nyong'o of ODM in the August general polls.

Ouda, on the other hand, will be defending his seat on an independent ticket after he was defeated by businessman Joshua Oron for the ODM Party ticket.

Governor Nyong'o had convened the rally after he was cleared by the IEBC to defend his seat in the August general polls.
