The poll by Infotrak Research was conducted in the period between May 23 and May 27.

An opinion poll result by Infotrak Research on Wednesday, June 8, indicated that Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga was leading in the race for the presidency.

The former Prime Minister was leading with 42 percent while Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya kwanza came in second with 38 percent.

Raila led in 20 counties, which were considered his strongholds by the pollster.

According to Infotrak, the ODM leader leads in the Coast region by 49 percent in the counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, and Taita Taveta.

In the Northern Kenya region, the Azimio presidential candidate leads with 49 percent in Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, and Marsabit counties.

He further held ground in the Lower Eastern region of Makueni, Machakos, and Kitui counties where he led with 41 percent.

The former Prime Minister also commanded Busia, Kakamega, and Vihiga counties of the Western region with 48 percent.

In his Nyanza backyard, Raila commands an unassailable lead in Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira counties with a whopping 73 percent.

In Nairobi County, Odinga has 50 percent whereas DP Ruto is second with 30 percent.

The survey was conducted in the period between May 23 and May 27 where 9,000 respondents participated.

According to Infotrak, the margin of error of the survey was plus or minus one.
