Kenya's Covid-19 confirmed cases have hit 83,316 after 711 patients tested positive for the disease.

The new cases reported on Sunday are from 6,672 samples tested in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry.

MoH reported that 692 are Kenyans and 19 are foreigners.  468 are male while 243 are female with the youngest being a one-year-old infant and the oldest is aged 92. 

576 patients have recovered from the disease. Of those 469 are from the home-based care program and 107 discharged from hospitals around the country.

This brings the total number of recoveries to 54,975. 1,262 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 7,806 are on home-based isolation and care.

68 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 42 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 24 on supplemental oxygen.

The statement also indicated that 96 patients are on supplementary oxygen, 73 are in the general wards 23 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
