Shioso divulged that the dragnet has widened and they hoping to arrest more suspects who are believed to be on the run.

The National Police Service has intensified the manhunt for six thugs who were captured on CCTV terrorising and robbing a woman at her home in Gitaka area, Ongata Rongai.

In a statement on the progress of the probe on Wednesday, Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso said 2 more suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident.

"To date, four suspects have been apprehended and aiding police officers with further investigations. So far, they are cooperating and they shall be arraigned in court as per the law," Shioso said.

In the due course of investigations, detectives have recovered one pistol make Browing, some cash money proceeds of the robbery and items of clothing worn by the robbers that fateful night.

Shioso divulged that the dragnet has widened and they hoping to arrest more suspects who are believed to be on the run.

"The Inspector general of police has instructed a crackdown within the areas and environs of Ongata Rongai targeting organised criminal gangs terrorising and robbing law-abiding locals," he said.

He urged members of the public to equally cooperate with the police and share valuable information that may lead to the arrest of the culprits.

"Information may be shared in confidence to any police officer in confidence, nearest police station or through police hotlines 999/112/911 and 0800722203 to Fichua Kwa DCI."
