"Owing to the constitutional and the legal mandate bestowed upon it, the National Police Service has commenced criminal investigations into the genuineness of the aspirants, namely Hon Johnson Sakaja and Hon Wavinya Ndeti, both gubernatorial aspirants for Nairobi and Machakos counties respectively, and determine if any offence has been committed."

NPS has now ordered the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti to conduct Speedy investigations into such authenticity and genuineness of all the certificates, testimonials and respective documentation presented to IEBC for clearance by Sakaja and Wavinya.

Sakaja is facing questions on the degree certificate he presented from Teams University, Uganda.

He is accused of fraudulently acquiring the papers yet he did not pursue his education in the said institution.

Sakaja will know the fate of the case challenging his degree on Sunday at 2 pm.

Wavinya on the other hand is facing a probe over her computer science degree.

She recently shared a letter showing she studied computer science degree in 10 months.
