Agano party has written to Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai requesting enhanced security for their presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga and his running mate Ruth Mucheru.
In the letter dated 20, June 2022, the Agano party said the security they requested was that which was provided by law.
The party also questioned the security being provided to their competitors and whether it was with the law.
"We are seeing our competitors with a lot of security, police car escorts, and sirens. Are these provided in law and regulations? if so can we have them but not with the bravado we see with our competitors," part of the letter read.
David Mwaure is among the four presidential candidates who have been cleared by IEBC to vie in the August polls.
The rest are George Wajackoyah of the Roots party, Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, and William Ruto of The United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
According to the recent opinion polls, Raila and Ruto are the two leading presidential candidates in the State House race.
