Sonko has moved to the High Court to challenge the IEBC decision to disqualify him from the August 9, elections.

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvo Sonko has exuded confidence that he will get justice even as he fights to have his name on the ballot ahead of the August 9, polls.

This comes after the IEBC disputes tribunal upheld a decision by the Mombasa county returning officer to disqualify him from the elections.

Sonko in a message to his supporters urged them not to lose hope assuring them they will triumph.

He lauded his lawyers for burning the midnight oil to ensure he is served, Justice.

The ex-governor said he will have no option but to consult his supporters on the way forward in the event he is locked out of the race.

"There's nothing like giving up in life. Lawyers walilala late. Waiting for my proceedings and judgement at the IEBC Dispute resolution tribunal registry for the next course of action," Sonko said.

"Watu wangu musi loose hope endeleeni kuomba mi najua tutapata justice uko mbele mbele na hata ikishindikana haitakuwa mwisho wa maisha mwishoe you are the people I will consult for our next course of action."

Sonko has now moved to the High Court to challenge the IEBC decision to lock them out of the race.

The IEBC dismissed Sonko on grounds that he failed to present the requisite degree as required by law.
