A survey by Trends For Insights Africa (TIFA) has revealed the leading candidates for Nairobi county top seats.

UDA Nairobi Governor candidate Johnson Sakaja has maintained a steady lead with 40 percent of the respondents backing him. 

He is followed by Jubilee's Ploycarp Igathe who has the support of 32 percent of respondents.

The new ratings represent a 17 per cent growth for each candidate.

In the Senate race, ODM's Edwin Sifuna is the favourite for the seat with 27 percent while UDA's Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is second with 9 percent. 

Sifuna's ratings have improved by 8 percent while Wanjiru's ratings increased by 3 percent.

Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris has maintained a steady lead in the race to defend her seat.

32 per cent of the respondents backed Passaris for the seat while UDA's Millicent Omanga enjoyed the support of 19 per cent of respondents.

Important to note, Passaris's support base grew by 4 percent while Omanga recorded a 13 percent increase in her support base.

The survey was conducted on June 20, 2022.

The method used in the survey is telephonic interviews. The duration of each call lasted 7 minutes. The number of call centre staff was 80.

A total of 632 respondents took part in the survey. The Tifa survey had a margin error of +or - 3.8.

The survey also indicates the Azimio Coalition is the most preferred alliance with 46 per cent of respondents backing it.

Kenya Kwanza Alliance comes in second with 24 percent.
