ODM leader Raila Odinga is the most covered politician in the country, a media evaluation report by the Media Council Of Kenya has revealed.

According to its data,  the  KTN News did 495 stories about Raila, and 336 about Ruto. 

Citizen TV had 485 stories about the opposition chief and 279 stories about the DP.


TV47 did 391 stories about Raila and 254 about Ruto. NTV had 313 stories about Raila and 201 about Ruto. K24 TV gave the ODM 373 stories and the UDA counterpart 229. 

KTN Home covered Raila 224 times while Ruto 152 times.

In the radio category, Radio Maisha covered Raila heavily (513 times) compared to Ruto who had 399 times coverage.


Radio Citizen covered Raila 439 times while Ruto was covered 282 times.

Milele FM covered Raila 448 times while Ruto was covered 271 times.

In the print category, Raila had 48 volumes on the Star paper while Ruto had 42.


The Standard gave Raila 44 volumes while Ruto had 37. The Daily Nation gave Raila 30 while Ruto had 26.

The analysis report comes days after Ruto openly faulted the media for denying him sufficient coverage compared to his fierce competitor Raila.

It is on that backdrop that Ruto opted to bolt out of the Presidential debate set for July.
