The accident happened along the busy Nairobi Mombasa Highway.

A Wiper Party aspirant has cheated death by a whisker after getting involved in a grisly accident along Nairobi to Mombasa highway on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, Peter Kithendu who is the party's aspirant for Nguu/Masumba Ward in Makueni County sustained injuries after the car he was using lost control and rolled several times along the highway before landing in a ditch.

Kithendu together with his driver were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital where they are recuperating. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.

The accident happened exactly one year after the former Nguu/Masumba MCA Harrison Ngui died along the same highway on June 16, 2021, after a vehicle he was driving collided with another along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway in Mukaa Sub County.

The accident happened after a trailer tried overtaking a fleet of vehicles before hitting a Toyota Prado being driven by Ngui who died on the spot.

Consequently, a female traveling in the same vehicle with the late MCA sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to Machakos Level Five Hospital.
