Mathare Jubilee Party candidate Kelvin Kioko, alias Bahati, has sent out a message to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio party leader Raila after reports of quitting the parliamentary race.

Dismissing the reports in a presser on Monday, June 27, Bahati stated that he was still loyal to the Azimio coalition party pointing fingers at a section of the party’s leaders.

“I want to tell the president and Raila Odinga with all humility that I’m still loyal to the Azimio government,” Bahati stated.

The musician accused ODM secretary-general Edwin Sifuna of alleging that he had stepped down in favour of his opponent in the race, incumbent Anthony Oluoch.

He added that Sifuna had not been given any powers or mandate to speak on behalf of the Jubilee party.

The singer fiercely hit out at the ODM secretary general on his Twitter alleging that he had been paid by his opponent to allege that Bahati had quit the race.

“Edwin Sifuna ushalambishwa mita tatu na my loosing opponent to lie that I have stepped down and “you” will offer me a job in the AZIMIO government? Unanipea Kazi Kama Nani? Kaa mbali na siasa ya Mathare. Fagia kwako ama utashindwa tena kama 2017,” the singer tweeted.

In a statement on Facebook on Monday, Bahati faulted the Azimio coalition party the reports of quitting the August contest saying he will remain in the race till he reaches the ballot.
