President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, July 8 hosted religious leaders from the Central region for a prayer service at State House. 

Images shared by State House showed hundred of religious leaders gathered at State House for the service. 

"President Uhuru Kenyatta is today at State House, Nairobi hosting hundreds of religious leaders from Central Kenya Region for a non-denominational worship and prayer service," State House tweeted. 

In videos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, it was a praise and worship session at State House as religious leaders led the session. 


The move comes barely a month ahead of the August 9 polls.

The Head of State recently said he was looking forward to his retirement after serving two terms. 

Kenyatta is backing Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the upcoming general election.  

Odinga will be facing Kenyatta's deputy William Ruto in the August polls.
