The 2022 presidential debate will be held on Tuesday, July 26, at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Karen, Nairobi.

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has sent out a message to all presidential candidates ahead of the presidential debate.

Speaking on Monday, July 11, during the National Election Conference at KICC, Nairobi, Wajackoyah asked the candidates to respect each other during the debate and avoid talking about each other.

According to the Roots Party presidential candidate, he would never talk about any presidential candidate during the debate.

“As to our presidential candidates, please and I beg you, you will never hear professor Wajackoyah talk against any presidential candidate in that debate. Let’s respect each other,” Wajackoyah stated.

He, however, stated that if any of them attacked him during the debate, he would hit back without hesitation.

“But if you attack me, I will attack you. I promise that,” he added.

His remarks come days after he said that he will only attend the debate if Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto and Azimio’s Raila Odinga attended.

“Let me make it clear, if Ruto and Raila will not be at the presidential debate, I am not going to waste my time debating with Mwaure. I am only going to debate Ruto and Raila,” Wajackoyah stated in an interview with NTV.
