TSC advertised new positions and the replacement of teachers who exited the service by natural attrition.

Teachers Service Commission has announced the shortlisting of candidates for 14,460 vacant positions in both primary and secondary schools.

The commission had advertised new positions and the replacement of teachers who exited the service by natural attrition.

A media report indicated that 356,000 teachers applied for the openings.

Of those who applied, 219,311 applied for the post-primary vacancies. While 1000 primary vacancies attracted 136,833. This is for the 5000 teaching vacancies TSC had advertised.

For 8,230 vacancies that were advertised to replace those who had gone for retirement, a total of 327,882 applications were made.

TSC had also advertised teaching positions for schools in drought-stricken countries in their affirmative action plan.

How to check

Candidates can access the shortlisted list by visiting the TSC website www.tsc.go.ke 

Once on the website, click the media center tab and select the download option.

In the listed services, choose the shortlisted applicants- July 2022.

The shortlisting is based on various counties hence you will have to select the county you applied for a teaching vacancy.
