Raila raised concerns over two books of Form 34A and the failure by the IEBC to print Form 34B.

ODM leader Raila Odinga now wants the IEBC chair, Wafula Chebukati, to convene an urgent meeting with the presidential candidates to iron out key issues of concern ahead of the August polls.

Through his lawyer, Paul Mwangi, Raila said there were a number of issues observed by their agents during their tour of Greece, where they had gone to witness the printing of the presidential ballot papers.

Mwangi says their agents also observed that something unusual in the printing of form 34 A.

"Our team picked up that there were two books of Form 34As which was labelled as Book 1 of 2 and Book 2 of 2. The team sought clarification from the explanation given that extra Form 34As were needed in each polling station because there was a need to give copies to election observers, media, and other stakeholders. We reject the explanation," Mwangi said in a letter.

Also, the ODM leader raised queries on the IEBC failure to print form 34B.

Mwangi says his agents were told that form 34B will self-generate, an explanation they say has not augured well with them.

"There is no room for the commission to exercise any discretion in this matter. The commission must print Form 34Bs on the same footing as it has printed Form 34A,” Mwangi stated in his letter.

“I raised these issues at the Airport when we attended the ceremony to receive the first batch of Presidential ballot papers.”

Raila now says an urgent meeting should be convened for the raised queries to be cleared.
