Ruto: I will be making many more trips to Jubilee headquarters because we need to prepare the party for the future

Deputy President William Ruto has vowed that he’ll visit the Jubilee headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi despite being banned by the party’s leadership.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Ruto noted that him visiting Jubilee headquarters is not news since he is the Jubilee deputy party leader.

He noted that in the coming days, he’ll frequent the party headquarters and initiate preparations for the future.

"My presence in Jubilee headquarters is not news, Jubilee headquarters is the party where I’m the deputy party leader. For anybody to raise an issue about my presence in Jubilee headquarters is completely to miss the point. In fact, I will be making many more trips to Jubilee headquarters because we need to prepare the party for the future,” he said.

Addressing the nation a few weeks ago, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju accused Ruto of using the party’s headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi to operationalise his 2022 campaign and banned him from accessing the premise.

"We would like to be absolutely clear, that we serve one President at a time. The DP, a self-declared 2022 presidential candidate, will not be allowed to use the party HQ as a centre of operationalization of his campaigns and for intimidation," Tuju said.

"The NMC has resolved that the Deputy President will not use the party headquarters for his brand of so called hustler politics. We will not allow an attempted power grab as happened yesterday," he added.
