Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has endorsed his Azimio counterpart Raila Odinga for the Presidency.

In a video seen by Nairobi Leo, the presidential candidate was addressing supporters at a club during which he endorsed Raila for the top seat.

"Because of that, man (Raila). The man whose tears come out every day because of what happened to him in jail, including me. I am here to join liberators. And the person I look at, the person who makes me stand here is none other than Raila Odinga," Wajackoya said.

Wajackoyah's director of communications Wilson Mureithi has however denied the allegations.

In a statement, he said the Roots presidential candidate has not stepped down from the race.

"Whereas our party leader addressed his supporters and accorded the other three presidential candidates some level of respect, the biased media has doctored the clip to suit and push their candidate, Raila Odinga," he said.

"We would like to state categorically that we have a presidential candidate who is on the ballot and will win this election. We have not and will not endorse any other candidate."

Wajckoyah has been polled third in many opinions with paltry less than 5 per cent support.

Raila and Ruto are billed as the leading presidential candidates by opinion polls.

Another candidate in the race is Agano party candidate Waihiga Mwaure David. He has numerous times ranked fourth in opinion polls with less than 1 per cent ratings.
