"Kenyans will vote for me when they get to the ballot. They are just quiet,” David Mwaure

Agano Party presidential candidate David Waihiga Mwaure has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to confirm to Kenyans that he will hand over power to him if he wins in the general elections.

Speaking in a press conference on Thursday alongside his running mate Ruth Mutua, Mwaure said he had confidence that Kenyans will vote for him when they get to the ballot.

The presidential candidate further asked the Head of State to confirm that he will not influence the election results in favour of his preferred candidate.

Mwaure stated that his Agano Party was calling for peace adding that there was no need to fight as there was hope for Kenya.

President Uhuru Ken

“We have a humble message to President Uhuru Kenyatta. We are asking you Mr. President and I’m asking you personally as a presidential candidate that you confirm to Kenyans that you or the deep state around you will not influence elections towards your preferred candidate.

“And that you will also hand over power to me when I win as I have confidence that Kenyans will vote for me when they get to the ballot. They are just quiet,” Mwaure stated.

On her part, his running mate Ms. Mutua asked the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to be firm in its mandate during the polls.

She further asked the electoral agency not to allow itself to be coerced or threatened to announce anyone a winner if they had not won fairly.

“IEBC be firm and steadfast. Do not allow yourself to be coerced or threatened. Do not anyone a winner if they have not won even if a gun will be held on your head,” Ms. Mutua stated.
