Kenya Kwanza's deputy running mate Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence as the tallying of presidential results progresses at the Bomas of Kenya.

Bomas of Kenya is the national tallying centre where the tallying and verification of Form 34A and 34B is being done.

In a tweet on Saturday, August 13, Gachagua urged their supporters to remain calm stating that everything was fine.

"All is well, relax good people. Don't be drawn into sideshows. We have no time for their usual drama. Our business right now is verification of form 34A and 34B at the national tallying center," the Mathira mp said.

He claimed that the verification process was being delayed by the Azimio agents.

"If the pace is maintained and they are restrained from causing further unnecessary delays the winner of the presidential vote should be announced before the end of tomorrow, Sunday.

"You are encouraged to visit the IEBC portal and with a simple calculator, add the numbers to know the winner such that the announcement by the National Returning officer will be a mere formality," Gachagua stated.

On the other hand, Azimio la Umoja running mate Martha Karua exuded confidence that they would win the presidency.

'There's no way the tally can be against us. The forms were on the IEBC portal, we took copies and we tallied. We know where we are. If we had the power, by now, we would have called it for ourselves... But we will wait for that announcement," Karua said while speaking at KICC.
