The former Prime Minister is now set to address the nation after losing the presidency for the fifth time.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is set to address the nation after losing to Deputy President William Ruto in presidential polls in just the just concluded general election.

In a statement by Raila campaign press secretary Dennis Onsarigo on Tuesday, the Azimio coalition party leader will address the nation today August 16 at 2 pm from the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

“Azimio La Umoja Coalition Leader Rt Hon Raila Odinga’s address to the Nation. Time: 2pm Location: KICC, Azimio Media Center,” Onsarigo tweeted.

Raila has not come out publicly to speak or issue any statement since the UDA presidential candidate was declared the President-elect by IEBC.

However, his running mate Martha Karua on Monday evening sent out a tweet moments after Ruto was declared winner of the presidential polls.

Karua tweeted: “It is not over till it is over."

It is yet unknown if Raila will concede defeat or head to the Supreme Court to dispute the results.

In his speech after being declared President-elect, the outgoing Deputy President thanked the ODM leader for engaging in a campaign that dwelled on issues affecting the people of Kenya.

“I want to thank my worthy competitor, Hon Raila Odinga, for a campaign that we all dwelled on issues and we tried to sell an agenda to the people of Kenya. I want to promise that I will work with all elected leaders,” the President-elect said.
