The Homa Bay Governor-elect has raised a concern before she takes over the leadership of the county.

Homa Bay Governor-elect Gladys Wanga has raised a concern over suspicious acts of irregular staff recruitment in the country as she prepares to take over the county’s leadership.

In a statement on Tuesday, Wanga cautioned the public to be cautious of suspicious employment deals with the Homa Bay county government as the new regime takes office.

“As we prepare for assumption of office later this week, our attention has been drawn to suspicious acts involving claims of irregular recruitment of staff to the county government of Homa Bay.

“For this reason, we ask the public to be wary of dubious employment deals with the county government and or its entities during this transition period,” the Homa Bay Governor-elect stated.

She further cautioned the public to be vigilant about corruption cartels and deceitful dealers asking for kickbacks in exchange for non-existent county government jobs.

Wanga affirmed that there will be no recruitment of staff in the county until the new administration took over the leadership.

“Let me reiterate that we have a transition in progress and there should be no recruitment of staff until the new administration takes charge and finds it necessary to initiate the same,” Wanga stated.

She further urged the county government staff to refrain from acts that could undermine the integrity of the county.

Wanga will be sworn in as governor on Thursday, August 25.
