9 presidential petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

The Milimani Law Courts will not available to offer services from Friday, August 26 to September 5.

In a notice dated August 22,  Chief Magistrate Milimani Law Courts said that the presidential petition will be handled at the  courts.

"Take Notice that Milimani Chief Magistrate Criminal Court and traffic court  will not be physically accessible due to  the hearing of the Presidential election petition as from26th August to 5th September, 2022," the notice stated.

The notice added that pleas and certificates of urgency will be filed  and handled at City Court  during the period.

For matters scheduled for that period,  they will be handled virtually for the respective courts.

At least 9 presidential petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

The petitions include that of the ODM leader Raila Odinga who is protesting the announcement of William Ruto as the President-elect.

IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati announced on Monday that William Ruto is the winner of the August 9 elections.
