The girlfriend had taken her child to  school when she was shot by the deputy OCS on the way back home.

Mau Summit police station deputy OCS has shot his girlfriend dead. 

The deputy OCS identified as Joseph Lourien Akorot is said to have waylaid the girlified Janet Chebet while she was on her way back home after taking her child to school and shot her.

He later turned the trigger on himself. He shot himself on the head.

A police report seen by Nairobi Leo shows that the matter was reported at Mau Police Station by area, Sarambei sub location, assistant chief Joseph Ngeno.

"Police officers under the Scpc Kuresoi North Mr, James' Ademba (SP) rushed to the scene and on arrival, they found two bodies lying beside the road side," the report stated.

"The Ceska pistol S/No,F4270 loaded with 9 rounds of 9mm, recovered on the Left side hand of the officer, lying on the ground, it's suspected 6 rounds of 9mm were used." 

Both victims were rushed to Molo Sub-county hospital but the girlfriend was pronounced dead on arrival.

The officer was rushed to Nakuru PGH in critical condition.

The motive of the incident is yet to be established.
