Moses Wetang'ula is eyeing the National Assembly Speaker post.

Westlands Member of Parliament (MP) Tim Wanyonyi has said that he cannot disclose his vote ahead of voting for the Nationa Assembly speaker post.

Tim's brother and former Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula has been fronted by Kenya Kwanza as their preferred candidate for the speaker post.

On the other hand, Azimio la Umoja, which is Tim's coalition has endorsed Kenneth Marende for the speaker position.

Asked who he will vote for moments before he was taking the oath of office, the legislator said that they were on opposing sides with the brother but he could not reveal his vote.

"Wetangula is my brother, yes but we are on opposite sides of the political divide, however, I cannot disclose my vote." the Westlands MP stated.

Wetang'ula has already resigned as the Bungoma Senator-elect in a bid to win the speaker position.

"The documents I have presented to the clerk include my resignation as a senator. Which resignation? I did a day after the gazettement of my election," Wetangula told the media on Wednesday before presenting his papers to the clerk.

The former Senator will now face Marende in the race for the position.
