The two are among the seven judges who upheld the victory of William Ruto as the President elect.

Claims that Deputy Chief Philomena Mwilu and Supreme Court Judge Smokin Wanjala have tendered their resignation at the Supreme Court of Kenya are false.

A social media post had indicated that the two had tendered their resignation even though it went further to state at the Registrar of the apex court.

The fake post indicates that the reason for the resignation had not been disclosed.

"Supreme Court judges Smokin Wanjala and DCJ Philomena submit notices of resignation to the Registrar JSC. Reasons not disclose," the fake post read.

Such fake reports went viral on social media with a section of Kenyans sharing and commenting on them.

The Judiciary has however clarified the reports and said they are not true.

While sharing one such fake report the Judiciary captioned a screenshot of the image as "Fake".

It is not clear why the misleading reports targeted the two judges.

The two are among the seven judges who upheld the victory of William Ruto as the President-elect.

They have also been Supreme Court judges for close to a decade.

They have acted on more than three cases challenging a presidential election.
