"In three months, I will be in shape and they will love what they see," he said.

Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua has admitted to being in a bad shape in as far as his dress code is concerned.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday morning ahead of the swearing-in, Gachagua disclosed that he has taken note of numerous criticism he has received regarding his dress code and has therefore pledged to work on his shape.

Gachagua was filmed while working out at the gym saying he looks forward to being in proper shape in three months time.

"Many people have been raising questions about how I dress. I had no luxury to look at how I dressed. My eyes were always over my shoulders and taking care of my family," he stated.

He disclosed that he had put a gym at his house 15 years ago but has never had time to focus on his weight since he was focused on raising his family.

Gachagua said he is currently at 94 Kgs and he looks forward to losing 10 Kgs in three months time.

"In three months, I will be in shape and they will love what they see," he said.

At the same time, Gachagua disclosed that since they won the presidency, the family has at least found peace.

He said they have in the last decade known no peace as they were being trailed by the security officers wherever they go.

"For the last 9 years, I have been under surveillance from state agencies. They have been following me wherever I go, listening to my telephone calls and following my wife and children," he said.

"In the last two weeks that has changed. I feel safer now.
